This is why most people still prefer to use the website variants of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc, instead of the native app variants. Oh wait, they don't...
Periodic reminder that building a native mobile app in addition to (let alone instead of) a responsive web app is a dumb idea 90% of the time. Of the remaining 10%, 90% are best served by a hybrid app that wraps the web views.

Sure, most people build apps for companies that have a few hundred million users who care about an app

I mentioned these apps because they are well known, not because they have millions of users. There a good reasons, functional, UX-wise and technical, to choose to build a native app over a responsive website. As often, the answer is: it depends.
