I loved the original 11 inch MacBook Air more than any other computer I ever had. I’d still use it if it had a Retina display. What’s your recommendation from Apple’s current line-up that comes closest?

So if the display isn't retina, the human eye cannot see it?

My problem is I’ve got a retina iMac on my desk and find it intolerable to switch between retina and non-retina

Current recommendation: wait for new MacBook Pro with fixed keyboard. DON’T BUY THE CURRENT F*CKING VERSION!

Oh, I have that one, don’t worry. I’m typing on a temporary replacement laptop right now.

i love my macbook. i wish it had the old keyboard, but apart from that, it's pretty much perfect for travels. with a bit more tolerance for weight, i'd move up to a 13" pro, but i really like the minimal weight.

Agree. Haven't had anything Apple since.

I replaced my beloved MBA 11 with a MacBook 12. Same size, thinner, reasonably more power, Retina. Like it very much. Would look at current MBA 13 this days too, should benamster than the original I guess

Late 2013 MacBook Pro. Still use it as my daily development machine

I agree. Best laptop I’ve owned. I didn’t get on with the MacBook 12” at all. I now have the new (late 2018) MBP 13” fully loaded and I really like it. Lots of keyboard haters out there but I’ve been lucky so far.
