Now trying some of these accounting tools. Incredible how they seem to be lacking! One of them offers quotes and invoices only for projects, not products (even if products can be registered) Another one doesn't offer overriding invoice numbers / numbering schemes

Entrepreneur friends. I'm thinking about moving from doing quotes and invoices with MS Word (I know) to some tool. What are you using?

... I haven't seen them handle currencies too well (e.g. list price in EUR, quoted price in USD with a conversion rate)

... am I doing things too complicated? The feeling is I might waste more time by adhering to the tool's preconceived rules than what I might save ...

And this other product only offers a single currency at all! Oh, FFS. I'm sticking with MS Word and MS Excel and optimise my processes.

I use this dead-simple and cheap SaaS tool for my wife’s small business needs: easybill.de – no idea whether it’s usable in/from Switzerland

Hmm, the currency is a account wide setting, and cannot be overridden per invoice. I send invoices in CHF/EUR/USD... :( It could handle Swiss VAT through some workarounds.
