It is nice meeting new people at conferences. At #buildStuffLT the C# folk provide an interesting alternative viewpoint to the Java folks. Communities are so much more than an a language.

Seconded! I’ve been consistently impressed with the C# / .NET developers I’ve met through BuildStuff. The various language communities can learn a lot from one another.

Thirded! It sometimes feels weird that they are distinct communities, as they share a lot of the same problems and solutions, but this definitely makes it interesting to visit both
