Amazing then that Erlang (a dynamically typed language) can give you better reliability than we have in most other systems. I like static typing but it obviously isn’t necessary for quality.

dynamically typed is already a bad design: it's a can of (worms) potential irrecoverable runtime errors in itself

It’s all related, IMO, but it seems having a good (im)mutability design is a much more important ingredient for being a good language for distributed systems programming than static typing
