Alternatively: "Daycare is offered for free for all children in poor areas, and if you do not make use of this free service, you lose your childcare benefits." I know it's a controversial topic, but the NYTimes rhetoric strikes me as unnecessarily polarising. Or is it just me?

I don鈥檛 know; is the same law applied to everyone regardless of their religion, income, ethnicity?

I like how the first image in the article shows a completely vanilla, maybe slightly worn-down, urban scenery. Only people who have never seen a ghetto can use this term here.

The story is to mandate 25 hours of day care to strengthen language development and break down barriers.
