(What I meant, in case that wasn’t obvious, is that it doesn’t matter what I or anyone else thinks, or even whether it is or isn’t a good idea, objectively. You’ll likely fail if you’re using something you don’t believe in.)

The answer is straightforward: If you think O/R mapping is a good idea, use JPA. If you don’t, use jOOQ.
