I need to spend some more time writing this down and have created a todo item for that :)

Well, yes and no. I don’t think this would work for me, but it’s not Todoist’s fault.

I use the channel-switching workaround, too, and it makes me really unhappy

Very lightweight!

Interesting. Can you use Todoist while on the go to easily create email todos?
1
I maintain inbox 0: Everything gets immediately archived, deleted, or answered. If none of these is possible, it’s moved to the Todo folder. If I don’t have time to handle mails, the inbox grows until I have time again.
1
I’ve used and failed at that approach, mostly because messages change from unread to read accidentally all the time

Makes sense. How do you actually handle that while, say, on the road and reading a slack message on your phone?

Folders work perfectly for me

But when that reminder message arrives at a moment in time when you can’t attend to it, what do you with it?

I learned to hate and avoid that with emails, trying it briefly with Slack reminded me why

That’s … I don’t have the right words

Reminders don’t work for me, have to experiment with pinning and starring – thanks

That seems like a good idea, but what does it have to do with my question? ;)

I agree we should, but sometimes people don’t

That seems like a good idea. It’s not open source by any chance?

Yes, I do the same. I also sometimes send myself an email referring to a Slack message. Surely there must be better options?

Exactly; tried those, none of them are satisfactory

One of my main problems with Slack (as opposed to email) is that I can’t seem to find a reasonable way to deal with messages later. The reminder approach doesn’t do it for me at all. How do you handle todos?
