Shouldn’t testing the algorithm for bias be extremely easy? Submit the otherwise exact same data with different genders; check whether outcome is the same
1) you don’t know DHH’s motivation and I see no reasons for your assumptions 2) it doesn’t have to be intentional to be discriminatory, that’s a key part of the issue 3) Apple’s name is on the card, and it’s specifically supposed to be a new kind of card because of that

Not entirely sure whether we agree or disagree here; my guess is it’s the former. Gender should not be allowed to play a role because that would be discriminatory, and companies need to be able to explain and justify their algorithms’ decisions.
