Everyone should be doing MVC most of the time if you ask me, especially if they’re still learning and want to keep things simple. In fact, that’s kind of always the case, so … ;)

Probably the best defense of @elonmusk regarding the recent PR disaster. I mostly agree, including that there’s really no excuse for the “pedo guy” insult quora.com/Whats-the-full-sto…

I’ve always appreciated DHH’s healthy attitude towards programming, social issues, business, and fast cars

Oh god, this bullshit again. There is ZERO evidence that any type checker less powerful than Coq will catch more bugs than being healthy and well-rested. If you use Haskell but eat junk food and don't exercise, then you're unethical. nitter.vloup.ch/PttPrgrmmr/statu…

Do you mean that’s what you meant when you used it, or that you found an authoritative definition somewhere?

So do you have a golden rule to help decide when to use which?

Otherwise, looking at something from a higher level of abstraction would mean looking at it in a less abstract way, which makes no sense to me at all

I wasn’t responding to your tweet specifically, even though it’s pretty tough work to parse your tweets as implying something else. But if you agree with what I wrote, I’m not sure what we’re debating.
However often the claim is repeated that, on average, women are less interested in programming due to biological reasons, it doesn’t become any more true. And if you can’t see why the claim itself is problematic, stop claiming you’re the one who’s being rational.

Make it “a small number of monoliths« and “for those where it makes sense” and I’ll agree :)

And as usual, the truth is in the middle. 100s of services are rarely a good idea, as is a single monolith.
