If you don’t believe decentralization is a worthy goal, it’s not.
Replying to @gethomast
A decentralized car and/or mileage registry is an excellent use case, as is any registry that needs immmutability and double-spend prevention. Privacy issues usually make things more complex than they seem at first, though

If you object to PoW on principle, consortium-based chains can be somewhat decentralized and use PoA

Building a smart contract on Ethereum for on-boarding, maintaining and incentivizing participants in a hybrid architecture would be a possible choice IMO

Proof-of-work in conjunction with transaction limits is not an issue if you batch transactions. No meaningful thing will be built 100% on-chain anyway. Dash masternodes were a good example last time I checked

This is going to be a very predictable conversation. I mention a number of use cases, you explain to me how they can all be done centrally, I say doing them decentralized is the whole point, we agree to disagree, the end

I consider the view that #blockchain has no uses cases at all only a little less ignorant than the one that it solves everything.

My colleague @mkraemerx has written a nice article about natural text processing. Turns out there are, in fact, languages other than English, and it does matter innoq.com/en/blog/handling-g… #MachineLearning

Lehrreicher Thread: 1.)

Seeing the ad delivery companies being denied their well-deserved income would seriously break my heart

Yes, you’re right – I didn’t notice because I learned of the force-touch way first

Well actually … you don’t even need to hit the space bar. Just pressing a big clumsy thumb anywhere on the keyboard works

My guess is now us a very good time to not know the meaning of that technical term
