AFAIK, in Germany the rapist would have to sue you to stop you, and a judge would decide based on the legal merit of the claim.

That’d be slander/libel vs insult in German, I guess. The non-legal term for the first in German is “Rufmord”, i.e. “reputation murder”

Cool. None of the environments I saw had this level of predictable, repeatable, bi-directional synchronization.
Can I use a Unix diff to see a change? Can I use a merging, file-based version control system? Can I use my text editor‘s macro features?

My point is that if your environment isn’t file-based, you lose access to that ecosystem of tools, so you have to compete with it.
That’s fine. I’m just pointing out that the majority of the dev community seems to agree with me :)
