Replying to @bitboss
@bitboss just watched the video. Only the hardware and the safety features.

@bitboss Musk was very careful to say the autopilot *hardware* will be there by default :-)

@ChristinGorman I’d be happy to help, but I have serious doubts a white dude can :-) I’m also on some people’s block list, BTW.

@ChristinGorman I would assume it’s only a small number of people who’ve blocked you, right? So my guess is the risk is very low.

@ewolff but it’s definitely not a container. It’s more like WINE.

@ploeh That is quite a venue!
@coda On the plus side, I learned what a deontologist is today.

@jnfrd @coda No doubt. But to me, his opinion is one a reasonable person might hold (even though I’ve come to disagree with it).
Replying to @bodil
@bodil Ouch. I missed that link.

@coda In this case, I see no reason to assume the lambdaconf dude doesn’t mean well, even if one may strongly disagree with the end result.
@coda I understand, and I agree. But I feel we sometimes assume way too much shared context, and de-value people’s opinions too easily.

Replying to @simkoelsch
@simkoelsch @michaelvitz Using the GUI version is perfectly reasonable, just disable all the GUI crap ;-)
2
@coda I should have been clearer. I didn’t mean its existence only, so I should have written “a valuable opinion”.
Replying to @simkoelsch
@simkoelsch @michaelvitz Mouse? Emacs? What’s wrong with you? Next you’ll tell me you use scroll bars? Or even a menu bar?

@coda I wasn’t aware one had to have a sociology degree, or pass some sort of test, to have an opinion on what’s right or wrong.
