@vbezrukov no, I mean that in the vast majority of cases, pushing data from server to browser is not needed and a repeated GET is just fine.

@james_clark I think I agree WeSockets is superior to Comet; my point was rather that plain old HTTP is good enough most of the time
Maybe I'm simply too old to get the value of WebSockets – can't help but feeling this will be a solution looking for a problem
