in my recent blog post, i used "female founders" because it's grammatically correct. i'd never say "females" to refer to "women".

For the sake of writing, "female founders" is right. However, in general "founder" works. Did you get a negative response from this?

I've never liked "female" (or "male") in that kind of context. Too clinical. Life isn't a police report. Just a personal preference.
