most of the world has lost the will to do big things--incredible alpha now in working on a big project. most of the world has also lost the ability to think on a long time horizon. combine the two and you'll be really happy!

we all need gratitude to live in this time. we stand on the shoulders of giants but to much is given, much is expected. so, onward to solve invisibly, small problems + solve world hunger + clean our environment (seriously + seriously happy to do so )

Is it logical to assume this comes from crowding out Austrian Economics in favor of Keynesian? Do we already have numerous examples from the past where currency devaluation led to higher time preference and less planning for the future?

I reckon what induces this is the fear of criticism, being labelled idealistic. Anyone working on a complex problem is always blamed for not fully understanding it. That has killed the will.

Idk I think it's more that the talent capable of building these projects work jobs that pay well but also have high work requirements. For example, the devs capable of building the next Google probably already work for Google and they're working +40 hrs a week
