Perhaps corporations pay politicians to pass legislation protecting their interests with R&D unfair corporate rules and regulation targeting individual inventors. Then the average Joe genius is stifled or intimidated to not go forward with their ideas.

this is what makes me frustrated with people tweeting about how you should launch your product within 1-week of having the idea. It makes people think their idea has to be simple, so they go in with a short-term mindset.

On the contrary, people are onto big things more than ever - electric cars, solar energy, green cement and green steel, fintech, VR/AR, digital education, vaccines to name a few

So true. Hard to imagine how this country ever had the collective will or foresight to take on projects like the Hoover damn, Panama Canal, or interstate freeway system. Those days seem long gone.
