the crazy thing to me is that the DoD hadn't insisted on paying spacex for starlink service in ukraine in the first place very sure other defense contractors get paid much more for much less value the people who want to make elon out to be the bad guy here just want attention

Imagine if you wanted to get home and I told you "I'll give you a ride" and made a big deal over me giving you a ride to everyone. Then I leave you at the side of the road 1/2 way and ask that you pay me for the other 1/2. Is my defense: I didn't say I'd take you all the way??

"Standing up for Raytheon, Boeing, Grumman & Lockheed is progressive AKSCHUALLY" is quite the position. But here we are.

All government contracts include a corruption clause. @elonmusk's products are too reasonably priced for the federal government to waste their time.

I don't agree. It's not that they want attention, they are just brainwashed cultists who literally don't understand the money flows in the war.

DoD isn’t a nimble founder led startup. They have accountability structures and redtape which takes time to resolve. I’m sure you mean well but if tables were turned it would be v easy to vilify the DoD

It wasn't done through a legal procurement process. It is unprecedented for a contractor to decide unilaterally that they are going to provide a foreign nation with technology and then request approval and payment ex-post. Lawsuits likely if they receive funding.
