the crazy thing to me is that the DoD hadn't insisted on paying spacex for starlink service in ukraine in the first place very sure other defense contractors get paid much more for much less value the people who want to make elon out to be the bad guy here just want attention

The criticisms of him accepting to donate are quite valid

I think the reaction stems from the fact that the demand for payment was preceeded by a series of overtly pro-Russian tweets and sudden Starlink outages on the frontlines Surely one can question this without just "wanting attention"

Lol i'm not following the 'insist' part...but it's clear the pentagon have been paying for starlink

Didn't SpaceX/Elon "donate" it to Ukraine? If so, why would DoD insist on paying the bill? They sure paid 1million+ for logistics of delivering the donation.

He us getting called a bad guy mostly because this comes after asking the Ukraine to surrender and give Putin what exactly he wants. Being pro-war criminal does not make people sympathetic to you.

I think it’s Elon who wanted the attention by tweeting armchair politics in the first place.

If Elon had led with the funding issue, he would have appeared reasonable -- but he led with RU talking points for Ukr capitulation. Now he appears petty. Your time might be better spent on convincing him. #TeachElon

It seems like Elon is the one wanting attention. He could handle all of this out of the public eye, but he doesn't. I've been a fan of Elon for a long time, but he's been acting like he wants all this backlash.

He’s getting paid
