we won't be able to be sure if text is human-generated or not, but it also won't be the most important question. 'independence' will be a very important metric.

A worldview framed around NPCs and non-NPCs, even if there is some inkling of truth, is extremely immature. Are kids NPCs? Where do you draw the line? Try to humble yourself and recognize that you may not be as different from everyone else as you think.

Yes, independence is key for a good life. But this is not new. What changed recently is that games and ai provide a new kind of npc as well as an environment for 'classic' npcs to play with the concept. Btw: Every pc is another one's npc, so let's stay humble friends.
