we won't be able to be sure if text is human-generated or not, but it also won't be the most important question. 'independence' will be a very important metric.

You know, this fails to account for all variables. Look at it like this: In a world where bots can be sensibly categorized with humans, the entire notion of NPC is void--every bot must have something interpretable as a rich inner life. NPC can't be consistently matched anymore
