AI is a rare example of an extremely hyped thing that almost everyone still underestimates the impact of in even the medium-term. what are other examples of this from the past couple of decades besides the iPhone? i'm curious what we can learn.

I’d argue that most people still haven’t experienced AR/XR the way it’s meant to be, with a hands free headset. Those of us with access to gen1 hololens and @magicleap had a true glimpse of the future. Companies like @tiltfive are about to make a big consumer push, though!

IOT has always felt that way to me. Already pretty fucking good but nowhere near the interop and impact it could have.

Honestly most game changing innovations have experienced this. Cameras, phones, cars, record players, TVs, radios, internet, etc. Anything that is truly innovative will be misunderstood and opposed by many. Some have to see to believe. They can't envision the future with optimism

I still think smart contracts have barely scratched the surface of what they’ll do for us. Everything is contracts. Frictionless contracting means entities assembling in totally new ways: Eg. An AI DAO hires 2 human DAOs to help it build a new DAO, where there is equity incent
