VCs and US companies were and are exploiting immigrants for years. That needs to stop. Behind every fortune, there is a big crime.

No one is begging, they’re going to Canada, Australia, etc.

As already pointed out, this could be an opportunity to rethink access to high education in the US. There are so many high skilled workers outside because other countries don't ask for a kidney to grant you access to their universities.

Would also like to mention there are also about 6 million formerly incarcerated individuals with skills as well, and they’re already here. In immigration and employment, we don’t have a labor problem. We have a discrimination problem.

Should we train our own people? Nah, too costly.

As a migrant myself, I cannot help but finding the term "begging" neither appropriate nor accurate 🤔 Anyhow, 1. This is a shared western economies issue; 1. This moment is coming sooner than we expected. IMHO. The #futureofwork in #tech might be from home for int'l clients.

We're conditioned to a world where there is a surplus of people, and it's easy to attract as many skilled immigrants as we want. That world is going away and will be replaced by a world where there is a shortage of people and countries have to compete to attract talent.

Totally. We’re not the shiny nation on the hill that we used to be so encourage the influx.

I promise you the highly skilled immigrants are not the ones crossing the Rio Grand and instead entering through the correct ports of entry. Let me know when they find a Doctor or engineer next to the coyotes smuggling children and women.
