right now there are many high-skill immigrants that are begging to come to the US and we don't let them some day we'll beg them to come and they won't want to this is an important-but-not-urgent policy disaster, and worse than it seems

Absolutely. The need for a qualified workforce not only supports more open immigration policy, but also it demands that we invest more in affordable higher education (& cancelling student debt) and providing subsidized child care like all other developed nations! #lowhangingfruit

Why can we not use high skill people in America? There is no reason why everyone who wants to come here should be able to come.

Can’t forget about the talented immigrants already in the US on visas that keep them dependent on big corporations for citizenship, and restrict them from starting their own ventures!!

Why would they return from countries like Switzerland?:) For higher rent, tax level or lower security, quality of infrastructure, access to eduction?

And once you arrive … there are even more hoops and hardships to jump through. Highly skilled are sadly the lucky ones who at least have an opportunity so don’t want to be ungrateful 🙌
