i'm concerned about the political landscape in the USA. some elements of the republican party are becoming increasingly anti-democratic. the 2022 midterms could be an inflection point that leads to undermining elections in 2024. (or it could all be fine! but there's real risk.)

Both sides are becoming undemocratic. Looking at only one side will hasten an outcome almost nobody wants. Both sides need to reject their deplorables, or deplorables are all we will have.

The majority of elements of both parties are anti-democratic. Neither side compromises. No one reaches across the aisle. We don't even try to find common ground anymore. It's broken and the more we point the finger at "the other party" the further we get from solving it.

I like these types of tweets because they illustrate how little most folks know about the history of politics in America.

Think of Washington DC as a pile of dogshit on the banks of the Potomac, under a huge swarm of flies. Your $250K will buy more dog food. Get outside. Go take a walk.

What percentage of Ycombinator investments go to US citizens, especially those from middle class backgrounds? Maybe that should be a bigger concern.
