i'm concerned about the political landscape in the USA. some elements of the republican party are becoming increasingly anti-democratic. the 2022 midterms could be an inflection point that leads to undermining elections in 2024. (or it could all be fine! but there's real risk.)

You think all the risk is on one side? Then you’re either naive or disingenuous. You’re not part of the solution if you play partisan games and try to herd voters into the blue or red corner, irrespective of the qualities of individual candidates.

certainly not all, but i think more net risk is currently on the republican side when it comes to stability of the country. that said, i think the democratic party is doing a terrible job on policy the last couple of years.

I'm struggling with this wording. Institutions are mostly shifting away from democratic values. Institutions completely controlled by the other party. What actions stand out to you as examples of anti-democratic? Real question not for bait.

I’m concerned about the political landscape in America because so many people are only worried about one party being anti-democratic. They both are anti-democratic and have been for decades. America is an oligarchy. The facade has mostly faded away.

When politicians hint they'll punish companies they don't like the policies/politics of, this is not freedom. Controlling 'woke' companies for example is anti-democratic. Let the market speak, let consumers vote. Version of democracy.

You're concerned now? Where have you been these last 6 years? And let me help you a little bit more that you may not be aware of (?!): the GOP tried to overthrow the US government. And they almost succeeded. The fight is still happening.

It'll be fine when the Republicans sweep the midterms.
