i think in 100 years people will look back at 2022 and be even more astonished at how bad our quality of life was than we are looking back at people who lived 1000 years ago

a lot of the Enlightenment 'ideals' are revisionist history and probably contribute to our contemporary decline, good thread:
I’m a graduate in Medieval Studies, and when I try to explain some myths about it, people look at me as if I was insane. The Enlightenment propaganda is so strong, that telling the truth about Medieval era sounds like a crazy right-wing conspiracy theory.

I think if peasants had access to Twitter/social media to air their grievances with the nobility, they would probably be speaking similarly re: quality of life. It’s almost like nobles built a system for only a few to profit and the rest to fall in line🤔
