i think worldwide tech salaries may equalize pretty fast--doesn't make sense for companies to pay differently for the same work depending on where people live if everyone is remote anyway--and its going to have some pretty interesting effects

Entrenched cultural resistance to fully remote work was the last big universal barrier to this, but the pandemic broke it. From here on the differences in pay will be mostly due to national legal barriers and labour law considerations.

They don’t pay tech workers differently for the same work. It becomes clear very quickly who is an efficient engineer and who is not. The superstars get top dollar and the others become interchangeable.

Nonsense. Once the office space price in SF is low enough and young graduates from local unis are getting in the startup game the Bay Area will reset because comms overhead kills startups and it’s less fun to be remote. Old companies will have a blast recruiting worldwide though.

Do you think crypto will speed this up, or do you think crypto/stable coins will have any affect on this? The euro and the dollar are almost 1:1 as of recent.
