As a young child, my life took an unexpected turn when my biological father left, forcing my mother and me to face life's challenges by ourselves. It was tough, but then, a new man came into our world. I came to realize later on, he would fill the role of my actual father.
It took me a good while to call him 'dad'. However, when my mom married him, and I met my sister and took on his surname, things started to change. That's when I knew that he was the man who would help me grow into the person I am today.
For 25 long years, he's been working tirelessly in a welding factory, every day a continuous grind with no easy way out. Inspired by his dedication and my mom's unwavering support, I made a promise to myself. One day, I will walk up to them and say:
"Thank you! Thank you for everything you have given me." - And as I say these words, I want to hand them a cheque - a ticket to a life free from financial worries.
I don't want millions, fancy cars or expensive watches. My only dream is to wake up each day without any worries for me or my family. That's the dream I'm committed to making a reality.
