Believing in numbers and fair evaluation, I've compared RAP and LLVM-CFI. RAP is faster, LLVM-CFI is more precise. RAP is incredibly hard to use and its future is uncertain while LLVM-CFI is just a command line argument away. Details at nebelwelt.net/blog/20181226-… Comments welcome 🤗

- LLVM-CFI can emit more than one kind of instrumentation and you tested only one of them (it's a total coincidence that it also happens to be its most performant one, i'm sure :). e.g., how about a cross-DSO test? [8/n]

it's not about the default but the code constructs you test it with. your test cases miss cross-DSO for example.

I never claimed that this is a complete set of tests. Please send in a patch, I'm happy to extend the test cases.
