The motive for defending the Jews during WW2 was humanism, just as the motive for defending the Palestinians today is humanism.
People who generally are humanists, i.e. people who also speak out against antisemitism, racism etc, are the very same people who speaks out against this genocide in Gaza.
Unfortunately, I see that all those who defend Israel are people who often do not treat people equally, and are only driven by self-interest, and the fact that they are simply fighting for the supremacy of the West.
These are people who do not look at the situation from a humanist perspective, but only "us against them", these are people who ALWAYS take the side of the West regardless of what the West does. As I said, there is nothing moral in this, and it can only be argued on the one one and only one premise, namely a purely self-serving premise. No one can argue against this. That is the sad fact, since its void of any morality.
The struggles of Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi were against the evil in man, not against men as evil. The media now presents all conflicts as a struggle of good versus evil. We are always motivated by freedom and democracy, while our adversaries are always motivated by imperialism. Thus diplomacy is appeasement and war is peace. Although we deny that we live by Machiavellian methodologies, we systematically justify our purportedly noble ends by resorting to immoral means. The recognition that the evil in all humans is the source of war may save us from the fatal sin of self-righteousness.
