Programming languages typically are viewed as being Turing complete which HTML and CSS are not full stop that it is programming itself is a point of contention most people do not agree it is. in computer science paradigms for programming HTML and CSS are declarative.

I'm so glad to see somebody's on this for developers and doing a great job thank you very much. I used to be able to run through each step of the Cascade and specificity in less than 3 minutes! LOL it's getting less specific in my brain with age much less in CSS as it is today!🤣

This is why real user testing is still a real need and relying on tools alone limits our capabilities not just for accessibility but performance optimization interoperability and all the yummy things the web offers!
If you want to get better at making accessible websites, my #1 tip is: improve your understanding of how people use the web. @TetraLogical has great videos that help with this tetralogical.com/blog/2021/1…

The big news in CSS here's a helpful guide to container queries. Reading w3c specs nowadays? And people struggled with CSS 2.1? Ha! Decentralization is difficult for me personally, but it is clearly stated modules are for implementers not devs. Great, true, and always was true.
My guide to ✨Container Queries ✨ has been updated to the syntax released in Chromium 105 and Safari 16. Learn what problem is being solved, how container queries work, and see how they compare with and complement existing CSS features for layout. smashingmagazine.com/2021/05…

If you haven't followed open web advocacy yet I highly suggest it. They've had tremendous success in the EU with antitrust action against apple and it's relation to browser Monopoly problems. It's taking a back seat to us issues such as they are. And in the world but it's worthy!
Apple has been found to fund the majority of @actonline, an astroturf group pretending to represent the needs of developers. Deceitful conduct from @Apple and ACT’s CEO @morganwreed which does active harm to developers worldwide. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Anton, you flashed me back to one of the Sydney conferences where Cam Adams presented on just how powerful JS was, having built the interface with drag and drop of Mac OS. Before HTML5 and browser monoculture concerns, even before the iPhone no less. That's Know The Code alright!
Thank you Arne. It means a lot, especially as we've been through so much change since many of us real originals got started (on bbs's and 300 baud modems :) ) lol!
Remember the 5k challenge? An HTML page of 5k in this day and age? Unthinkable! LOL! I have never been at a real loss for words spoken, written or thought! Shocking, I know! But today's languages in #webdevelopment are not scaling to both apps and sites. One size NEVER fits all.

I understand that I have been only recently been able to put effort into building a Blog again. But Twitter especially is where I've met and made new friends and you are one of them so there is value and consider slimming Focus down to just those people and groups you like here.

And yes the isolation and in our heads thing is probably our way of dealing with the difficulties inside ourselves as well as outside in the world so it makes sense to me. perhaps consider focusing on the few people that are helpful to you, using tools to keep that safety zone.❤️

I feel that way sometimes too. I think having let certain politicians have their way with the platform has really created a permission Society here where people just feel like it's okay to be extremely negative and combative. Is it reading or is it interaction that are upsetting?

,I was distracted this labor day weekend myself.😳
Exactly. I had an interim terrible NP who saw me for 5 minutes on Zoom said she'd have me off in 3 weeks I was like no no you're not going that fast no way and she said well you know those symptoms are just the return of your problems. I exited chat and never have seen her since

Heartless and cruel and sadistic are my contribution in words I'm sure we could pile on and have a very long list by morning. And yes I'm holding up a sarcasm sign. 🙄 It is awful truly and they should all be in prison for the rest of their lives. Lady Justice stood us up.

I have a far less storied history with medications benzos for 38 years is the worst. The Prozac was horrible but a psychiatrist in Nevada and a good therapist were able to figure out I needed to get off it and it that worked. Lifetime Insomniac oh I relate with you nothing helps.
