If this is really about accessibility this is awesome. I hope other console and controller makers follow suit.

I'm leaning toward confidence. There are some very good people in accessibility at Microsoft now. :-)

It seems so. I keep seeing them talk accessibility in terms of HoloLens, or Windows 10, or Windows 10 IoT, or even Edge. Even Xbox got a few software updates before focused on accessibility.

Wouldn't it be nice to think that the hard work for #webstandards and #a11y we all have done might actually have taken root in a major corporation?

I honestly think it has. It's a good thing, more people can play and participate in stuff.

I appreciate your optimism. I think mine has been a little damaged along the way especially because of policy with DRM and net neutrality. Open Standards and an open web cannot coexist with ownership policies based on capitalistic ideals or nationalistic ideas.

I agree. I've mixed feelings on the DRM thing though. On one end, it's nice to get away from plugins, on the other there will never be a universal solution to DRM. Plus DRM doesn't really protect anything, it just makes the MPAA and RIAA feel a false sense of security.

Oh I don't think the problem is so false have you seen the rants from Netflix and other media companies that are web-based. Doom and Gloom if net neutrality is rescinded this month. For their wallets. Not for Humanity. Piss on that I say!
