Dear book writing friends - what is the one thing you wish you'd done when you set out to write your first book? Or the one thing you *did* do that worked so well you'd recommend it to someone taking their first steps along on this treacherous path?

I wish we would have had an active editor, and the equivalent of an advisory board of SMEs. The solitary suffering artiste thing doesn’t work for me. Especially the suffering part.

Editors are the unsung heroes and heroines of the industry. No question that without them I'd never have produced work much less so much of it. I'm laughing at Eric's common and he knows exactly why!
