Procrastinating on a painting. Do many artists experience bad anxiety when a painting's going well and it's time to pick up the brush again? I never had stage fright, but mucking up something not awful puts me in a panic! 馃槣

Last Wednesday, I watched a Webinar on the Munsell Color System presented by Paul Centore, who is an artist and color scientist. The Webinar was for artists and discussed shadowing and paint mixing. While I am no artist, I learned more on 1 hr than I learned from some classes.

Can you torrent all that wonderful learning over to me please? That sounds really interesting! I have two color books (I wrote color books lol) but for the RGBa additive synthesis not subtractive. It's really helping calm me. #artTherapy

The key is Illuminants. They are nothing more than math models built around spectral refraction from a standard white surface. The observer angle is the angle of the viewer to the light source. The 1931 standard was 2 degrees. In 1964, the 10 degree standard was added.
