Are there really people in this world who were protected by parents, never inappropriately touched by them or family much others? I have a hard time parsing the sexual bad behavior of apparently mostly men on women because that's not my story. Was your family safe and protective?

Mom and dad split when I was 2 1/2. I’ve never seen my dad. I was sexually molested by a babysitter at 7 and raped at 10. At 9 my mom married my step father who used to beat me, sometimes to unconsciousness. Went to 10 different schools before graduating high school a year early.

Despite our sociopolitical POVs being very different, this comment here and shared long-term chronic serious illness are at least two very strong reasons we remain compatible at core as friends.
