This is actually in the Bible, Sarah - New Testament (Matthew I think?). I didn't read that part 'til I studied theology in college. I have long heard the nautical take-off. "Red sky in morning, Sailors take warning, Red sky at night, sailors delight!" ⚓️ nitter.vloup.ch/slewth/status/93…

I know, I keep trying to use key combos and remember I have to use the stupid keyboard viewer. As for "minor prophets" not coming from a Christian background I don't fully understand any of it. The testaments are very contradictory!

I've always used the shepherds delight version, didn't know it was in the bible

Yep! Interesting, eh? Origins of words/sayings fascinate me. Okay, worse. I'm totally lexically obsessive. Symbols too. Spectrum kids rock! :D

@slewth I’ve always said: Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky at dawn, sailors be warned. And I did a minor in comparative theology.

You never cease to amaze me Joe. Like an onion. Or bottomless cup of coffee. My favorite kind of human. That's the way I heard it, but again, didn't grow up with the New Testament and read it later when studying theology myself.
