This is the essence of the straw man fallacy that people construct about #surrogacy.

Observing this conversation I am deeply reminded why we gotta pick our battles. Some have no capacity yet, or ever, to widen their viewport.

I agree. Some people will never change their mind.

I think what helps me most when under fire like that is to definitively look for my accountability, own it and leave battles not mine alone.

For the most part, I do not seek these people out. They find me and accuse me of crimes that I have not committed.
