Do you find it as emotionally devastating as I do to disengage from family you love to your core but the toxic dynamic harms everyone? #sad😢

I have only one brother and daughter left of my immediate family. Plus, grandchildren.

Are you able to see them? I changed my whole world for two people who are not only old and sick and refuse using resources to get real care.

It took years to realize I would never be what was expected. Being "that" wasn't happy, healthy, or well adjusted...much better now <hugs/>

Yes, very devastating. It can really redefine what family is and who you can lean on, but I think it's ultimately healthier
