The oil? Is it a brand? It shouldn't taste terrible. It should taste plain. Is it flavored with flavors or terpenes from other plants.

It is an astringent, you might feel a slight heat that soothes and goes away after a moment. Some are extra bitter so kids don't consume it.

It has a concentration of 1 part of extract to 10 of olive oil. Most sell it in a concentrator more like to 1 in 100...

Otherwise, the distillates and oils made without any chemical extract process are very very clean. I wish I could DM you a taste of mine LOL
