What types of tribes and priests? My biological father went to Mexico in the 1950s on "journeys" with Shamanic Curanderos.

Before leaving Nigeria, they wanted to make me a tribal chief.

Wow. How amazing - I would love to hear that story in detail. Another reason to have that refreshment F2F - a real goal!

I think I am the only geek to have a goat sacrificed for me to protect me from evil, & danced w/ 96 yr old Oshun priestess.

HA! Oh, interestingly, a friend from Nigeria told me I was an honorary Nigerian - I was honored. I've never visited, I hope to!

Presently, not a very safe country. I really wasn't a visitor. I had a contract with NEPA - National Electric Power Authority.

Having internal relationships and being there under an "authority" does make travel in disrupted nations a bit easier. Resources.

During a military coup there is no such thing as safe. Connections help me to get out of the country in one piece.

He wrote me a letter while hiding under furniture during the coup. He left the Foreign Service not long after. Brutal experience.

Since Vietnam, I have been in 2 wars, & 2 military coups as a civilian. I actually have slowed down.

Sheesh. I'm glad you've slowed down. I lost my husband to this sort of thing. Do not want to see others sacrificed :(

Slowed down doesn't mean that I am not open to another adventure. Right now, my main concern is taking care of a very ill wife.

I understand that concern. All the way home, my friend. All the way home. Strength to you for all of it. You're a hero among few.
