Help me out: Your family of origin causes a lot of suffering in your life. You work decades to make changes but they do not. What do you do?

My choice was to follow my own path. My sister, of blessed memory, was my only supporter.

My mother is that to me. I am honing in on it - she's the only one other than husband who equal or better my drive to heal.

You get to choose your friends, but not your family. Surround yourself with people who energize you, not exhaust you.

This is a key @moboboandyking FAR easier if I could say my family are scumbags so buhbye but they are NOT bad people at all. Stuck, perhaps.
