OUCHIE I sliced my thumb last night and am reminded that I live with a serious bleeding disorder. On the other hand (heh) I managed it well.

Thanks to the miracle that is potassium ferrate and some chemical polymers, yes. @holaMau otherwise I'd have bled all the way to the E.R.

Oooh, this is the first time I've heard if potassium ferrate. More effective than typical styptic?

My husband, a disabled combat veteran and retired rural doctor knew so got for me. That it works on ME is proof it really works!

I'll keep some on hand for random wounds, but I think I'm limited to cellulose-based Quick-Clot gauze for my dialysis access.

Hubby's getting me some gauze too after hearing of my "this thumb is not a bagel" move yesterday. Sounds like it's also helpful!
