Once the pad was cleared I had a very odd thought "I wonder if the Israelis took out insurance on that satellite" Ha! Is that even possible?

There was insurance on the satellite. I think it was around $200 million.

There are only a few insurance companies that deal with such projects. Even ham radio satellites have launch insurance.

It makes sense. I'm just curious what kind of insurance company has the bank to insure such high-priced, unique items! :)
