Okay, that makes sense. You know, I actually loved HTML tables. Even for layout. I think I'm allowed to say that now ;-)

The conversion from formatted spreadsheet to HTML table is the crazy part. To work on multiple devices I use Google Sheets.

Sheets of raw data are summarized into summary sheets. For articles sheets goto Libre Office Calc. Then to HTML.

Libre Office FTW! I use it regularly these days (Word now reserved only for those publications requiring it) :)

Haven't used Microsoft Office in over 10 years. Only OpenOffice then Libre Office. If necessary, I save files in MS format.
