Here's how #EME in #html5 plays for me: The @w3c made a decision. Many do not agree. Including @EFF so my statement is: Freedom > Standards!

Me? I just want the open dialog so that people are empowered through clarity. Which is why I'm grateful to see engagement! @amyw3c @w3c @EFF

In practice, it's the opposite @amyw3c Software vendors are forced to implement because to not do so means no competitive edge. @w3c @EFF

We've had 20 years discussion about competition on the standards layer of implementation. We mostly agree it's a poor idea @amyw3c @w3c @EFF

Better that browsers and developer software compete on features, not implementation. Browser World War I taught us this lesson. @amyw3c @w3c

I'm not here to cause harm @amyw3c. I desperately want more authentic discourse from which we all learn an grow, not tear down. Thank you!
Anyone building software cannot compete without #DRM #EME implemented. It forces a compliance, which is a bias. @amyw3c @w3c - thx for talk!

The "lesser of two evils" issue is very much alive here indeed. Just like the US presidential race. Depresses me!
Honestly, I have to pick this up at another time, I have serious issues here at home. This dialog is invaluable! Thanks folks! @amyw3c @w3c
Likewise, Amy. Thank you and enjoy some weekend time! @w3c
Grateful to @amyw3c , in earlier time zone, for picking up on all the Q's & chat this morn! I have same Q's & don't yet understand the A's.
