no there are too many "web professional groups and bodies" & unions ... I've seen too many industries destroyed by unions :(

Yes, but where's the larger discussion then? That's insular and fragmented rather than integrated as Web, to me, should be!

not sure about USA but here in AU/NZ I see no need or value for us in a union of web people. #IcouldBeWrong

Let's step off the union and just talk about an open organization where discourse about the standards within our profession lives.

A professional is one who earns money (or other value items, depending) in exchange for services and/or products served.
