I think it's long past time for Web industry to organize. A union? A professional organization that is OF BY AND FOR us? What do you think?

no there are too many "web professional groups and bodies" & unions ... I've seen too many industries destroyed by unions :(

Yes, but where's the larger discussion then? That's insular and fragmented rather than integrated as Web, to me, should be!

Let's step off the union and just talk about an open organization where discourse about the standards within our profession lives.

Could be. My first goal is to create a standard for the profession. We have social and civic responsibilities inherent to Web.
