Any #photo tips for shooting nighttime, dark on dark with bright background on an aging HTC? I'm a good shot but a pretty bad photographer.

Just shoot away. It doesn't cost anything to experiment.

After 200 shots of black on black I kinda gave up said experiment ;-) I'll bring my Canon next time. An old HTC ain't cutting it.
