@fantasai @patrickkettner @w3c Nesting toolbars = bad. I have no idea of the context though so I'm sticking my nose into the discussion ;-)

@mholzschlag @fantasai @w3c I was questioning the usability of a super wide table on a mobile page
2
@patrickkettner Super-wide tables are problematic on desktop too. Scrolling combined with magnification? Users get lost. @fantasai @w3c
1
@mholzschlag @fantasai @w3c you mean horizontal scrolling? Or am I misunderstanding? Demo/concepts would be awesome to see
3
@patrickkettner Maybe a map style zoom effect with user controls would address the issue? @fantasai @w3c
1
@mholzschlag @patrickkettner @w3c No way that's happening this year. Large tables are gonna just be large always.

@fantasai @mholzschlag @patrickkettner @w3c We don't have anything like table-header-group to make headers repeat while scrolling, do we?
2
@fantasai @mholzschlag @patrickkettner @w3c Though I guess for that to work half the time we also need to make horizontal headers special…

@gsnedders @fantasai @patrickkettner @w3c The horizontal scroll IS primarily the UI problem here IMO. RWD does address some concerns.
1
@mholzschlag @fantasai @patrickkettner @w3c I dunno, in my experience vertical scroll can be just as much of a problem.

@gsnedders Vertical and horizontal are becoming less and less meaningful in multi-device world. @fantasai @patrickkettner

@mholzschlag @fantasai @patrickkettner Indeed, which is one of the problems with thead and table-header-group…
